The Sustainable Singapore Youth Leadership Programme encourages social entrepreneurship and the development of community leadership skills in youths in Singapore. Exploring the theme of Environment and Sustainability, youths can sign up by forming groups of three to five members and will be challenged to develop and execute project ideas
that address the sub-themes of sustainable living, energy reset, and/or city in nature.
To assist in the development of these project ideas, The Global Citizen Academy (TGCA) will provide a mentorship through bootcamps and regular check-ins throughout the development of the project, equipping groups with the tools to act, and providing them with the platform to receive guidance and feedback regarding their project ideas.
At the end of this initiative, we intend to showcase featured projects, on the 16th of November 2024, how they have accomplished the objectives of the sub-themes and the impact they have had on their targeted community.
3 to 5 participants form a team in any of the 3 categories (secondary school, pre-tertiary, tertiary and open) to ideate and execute their project solutions that addresses any of the three statements above.
The Global Citizen Academy will run virtual bootcamps in four half-day sessions from April 2024 to equip students with understanding of project planning and sustainability, and tools that they can use in order to help them brainstorm, ideate and execute their project solutions.
The programme will end with showcase of selected teams’ projects on the 16th of November 2024 from 10.00am to 2.00pm at the National University of Singapore.
This showcase will provide teams with the platform to display their journey in addressing the problem statements they have developed.
