HUGEM Innovation Challenge South East Asia IV (Virtual)

About

In partnership with The Global Citizen Academy, the HUGEM Innovation Challenge Southeast Asia IV, organized by the Harvard Undergraduate Global Education Movement, will bring together delegates from different backgrounds and multiple esteemed speakers for a 3-day conference in Singapore.

Similar to HIC SEA IV (in-person), the seminars and discussions of the virtual conference will center on two (02) tracks guided by the following two Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities & Communities and SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption & Production. We aspire to help our brightest-mind delegates think deeply about these global challenges and offer solutions on how young people may collaborate to foster a sustainable international development.

Delegates will select one of these tracks, participate in online debates and seminar sessions tailored to that track, and learn from key figures in academia, industry, and government. They will also have the chance to network and connect with other delegates from all throughout Southeast Asia during the event.

Delegates will work together in small teams on a viable “Solution Proposal” after a series of seminars to address real-world issues and spark concepts for potential collaborative initiatives. These recommendations are comprehensive in nature and include several media platforms, policies, and innovative business concepts. Prior to submitting their final round proposal at the end of the conference, students will be tested to their limits in open debate sessions about their proposals. Lastly, social events and discussions will provide delegates a chance to network in a more casual settings.
