Job Description

Job Summary

The Global Citizen Education Group is looking for someone with strong expertise in teaching competitive and / or recreational debate programs for elementary to high school students. The trainer should have a competitive debate background and should be well versed in the WSDC (World Schools Debating Championships), BP (British Parliamentary), and AP (Asia Parliamentary) debating formats. The trainer should have a degree in English with at least 1-year relevant teaching experience with students aged 9 to 18 years old. The trainer will be conducting lessons with materials provided by The Global Citizen Education Group. This position is based in Vietnam, and trainers are expected to possess necessary equipment and software to conduct online classes.

The terms of engagement and remuneration will be on a per programme basis. Trainers would work as a freelancer.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging online training sessions for students based on the curriculum developed by TGCEG.
• Provide feedback on student’s performance and behaviour periodically.
• Communicate training needs and online resources.
• Execute classroom management for online training sessions.
• Tailor teaching methods and content to accommodate the diverse learning needs and interests of students.

Requirements

• At least 1 years of relevant teaching/ mentorship experience in Primary/Secondary/High schools.
• Experience in competitive debate and/or rhetoric speech in English. 
• At least pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited school in the IAU WHED. 
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Strong communication skills.
• Professional and able to work independently.

Recognised English Qualifications

The language certificate requirement can be waived if the candidate’s previous studies were conducted in English (Transcripts will need to be provided).
